While tens of thousands of students have protested for weeks for educational reform in Chile, other students have turned to prayer. Each Friday afternoon a group has gathered in the Plaza de Armas (central Santiago square) to sing, display banners with Scripture verses and pray for their country.

  1. Have heard very little about the protest this far away. Glad to see your photo and see some positive steps taken by Christian students. Can’t get the banner message in reverse but, no doubt, it is well chosen for the occasion.

  2. Hi Ruth Anna, The banners were facing outward from the circle of the students so they could be read by others in the Plaza. This banner said “Pedid y se so dará, buscad y hallareís. Oratón X la educación.” (“Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find. Prayer-a-thon for education.”)
